It seems like congratulations are in order!
People magazine has confirmed that Pippa Middleton is engaged to her boyfriend, James Matthews, a hedge fund manager.
"Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday, July 17 and plan to marry next year," the couple said in a statement.
According to Hello! magazine, Matthews asked Middleton for her hand in marriage during a vacation in the Lake District in the north of England.
The news publication also reports that sister Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and husband Prince William are "thrilled by the news" as, of course, are her parents Carole and Michael Middleton.
Tuesday morning, the 32-year-old columnist and author stepped out of her London home flashing her gorgeous engagement ring to the waiting photographers, adding that she "couldn't be happier" with the recent news.
The proposal reportedly took friends and family by surprise, but Pippa's dad couldn't be happier. "They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together," Middleton said in a statement Tuesday.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson also confirmed the happy news, saying, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are absolutely delighted with the news."
Middleton and Matthews first started dating in 2012 before splitting up. Pippa then dated Nico Jackson for three years before reuniting with Matthews last September.
We can't wait for the wedding!
