All you need are these five pieces.

Although high fashion shoots and heavily styled editorial outfits get a lot of attention and admiration, it’s the model off-duty looks that are proving to be aspirational, and are finding favour with the style-savvy, thanks to their comfort and laid back vibe.

Luckily, channelling your fave off-duty model doesn't take much, just a few simple pieces that can be made into several different outfits.

Here are five pieces that will give you model-worthy chic status, along with our fave ways to style them.

Most shoots require long hours in beautiful but potentially painful heels, so its no wonder the model-off-duty shoe of choice is foot-friendly sneakers. Classic Chucks and Vans are top of our list to make travel to and from set a comfortable walk in the park. Styled with anything from high-waisted denim and floral baby dolls to flowing maxi dresses, it’s kicks all the way for the off-duty-model set.

Stretchy skinny knit tanks are a model must-have — they’re easy to pull on and off without messing up hair and makeup, and soft on the skin after several outfit changes at work. For days off, pair it with denim for a simple, yet flattering look, and transition into the evening (or go glam by day like Gigi Hadid) by tucking it into a skirt and adding some sparkly statement jewelry.

The quintessential backstage uniform: shredded shorts, ripped skinnies, and beat-up baggy boyfriends are the ultimate in off-duty model chic. We love all of the above with our favourite skinny tank, classic tee or dressed up with killer heels and a designer top.

From baby doll dresses to beach-ready maxis, loose flowing florals are a model go-to for arriving to set or enjoying a well-deserved day off. High-tops or ankle boots are an edgy compliment to feminine florals and for the height of summer, we prefer boho braids and barefoot in the park.

Model days are spent trekking from castings to shoots and back, so a stylish carryall is kind of a must. Rucksacks are perfect for packing on-set essentials like snacks and a book, and leave hands free for equally important social updates.
