Princess Diana Had The Cutest Nicknames For William And Harry

Can you guess what they were?

Believe it or not, Britain's royal family is just like any other bunch, even down to having nicknames for each other.

Back in 2007, Prince William and Harry revealed to NBC anchor Matt Lauer that their late mother, Princess Diana, used to call them "Wombat" and "Ginger," respectively.

"It began when I was two," William said, regarding his nickname "Wombat." "I've been rightfully told because I can't remember back that far. But when we went to Australia with our parents, and the wombat, you know, that's the local animal. So I just basically got called that. Not because I look like a wombat. Or maybe I do."

Lauer then asked what Harry's nickname was, and the father-of-two had no problems calling his younger sibling out.

"Oh, Ginger," William explained. "You can call him whatever you want. Most of them I can't call in front of here. You know, a bit rude. He's got plenty."

But while some may think the name sounds pretty cute, Harry doesn't think it's quite fitting for him.

"I don't think I'm Ginger," he said.

Then Will chimed in again, "Apart from the fact you are."

Oh, those boys.

But the two brothers aren't the only royals to have been given nicknames.

According to HELLO!, Queen Elizabeth II was called "Tillabet" as a child, while William refers to his wife Kate Middleton as "Poppet."
