If something unbelievable happens on April Fool's Day, you'd better have proof.
So when Cary McCook got hit by a deer on April 1, he made sure to share the video.
The 25-year-old was stepping out of a truck in front of a hotel in Smithers, B.C., when he heard a sound. He turned his head, and was immediately thrown out of the way by a charging deer.
“As I was turning my brain couldn’t process what was coming at me and by the time I knew it, [I had] already had gotten hit by ‘Bambi’ that was being chased by a dog," he told Global News.
McCook wasn't hurt in the incident. But when he went to tell his mom what happened, she wasn't having it.
"She couldn't believe it. She's like, 'All right, Cary, good one,'" he told CBC Radio's "As It Happens."
McCook got the video from the hotel and put it on Facebook.
He said he doesn't mind people having a laugh at his misfortune.
"My mom always tells me that laughter is good medicine," he told Abbotsford News.
