HuffPosters Know How to Party!

Posted: 05/24/2012 11:42 am

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HuffPost Canada!

And what a birthday celebration that was! The true definition of a cocktail mixer ... a superb and beautifully balanced blend of present and past political leaders, artists, publishers, prominent Bay Streeters, celebrated journalists, social entrepreneurs, dreamy young interns, our very own national corporate celebrity felon and -- of course -- the one and only Arianna Huffington. A spectacular frenzy of opinions, wisdom, passion, energy and so much Canadian pride!

But it was more than just a party. It was a perfect representation of one the most fundamental and under-celebrated pillars of our great society: our absolute freedom of expression. In its short year of existence, the Huffington Post Canada has come to symbolize exactly that kind of freedom and unconstrained thought-leadership for our country. It has truly lived up to its tag line: conversations, indeed, do start here.

Happy Birthday HuffPost Canada - and thanks for contributing an extra dose of energy and spice to our beautiful country!

Your Invisible Sky Friend Is Morally Abhorrent

Ah Mister Souvaliotis, so nice to see you are back at your usual résumé padding efforts, trying in beween those interminable columns you submit to once again to insinuate yourself among those you think are the movers, the shakers, the trendsetters, the glittering members of the Those Who Really Matter® Club. Look at your shiny pate, your squishy midriff (honey have you forgotten that gym attendance is mandatory for the gay, trendy and middle aged?) and the pretend comfort level none too convincingly exhibited by Mrs. David Frum as she tries gamely for the camera to remember vaguely who the heck you are. And look at that delightful murse, a fashion accessory that says "I am trying really hard to turn insignificance into a career strategy." Keep livin' the dream!
