Vancouver's Top 10 Hotels

Posted: 10/22/2012 3:37 pm

When it comes to the beautiful Canadian city of Vancouver, I can't help but consider myself a bit of an expert. After all, I was a long-time resident up until a few months ago and while there, was lucky enough to work as a lifestyle journalist reporting on Greater Vancouver's best restaurants and attractions. And when it comes to accommodation, let me assure you that this Pacific West Coast city has some pretty extraordinary hotel options on offer. Without further ado, here are my top 10 picks for Vancouver hotels:

  • Opus Hotel

The boutique Opus Hotel, located in Vancouver’s swanky Yaletown neighbourhood, consistently rakes in “best of” accolades from numerous publications - and for good reason. The customer service is top-notch and the hotel boasts countless unique amenities including pet-friendly rooms, free bike use and complimentary in-room iPads to use throughout your stay! Plus, the location is only a hop, jump, and a skip away from a scenic urban seawall. Prices, availability, reviews and photos of the Opus Hotel

  • Rosewood Hotel Georgia

The Rosewood Hotel Georgia is conveniently situated within the heart of the city centre. In addition to a colourful history (its guests have included the likes of Elvis Presley and Katharine Hepburn), the newly refurbished luxury property offers an award-winning restaurant, an impressive Canadian art collection and the very fabulous Bel Cafe (be sure to try the macarons!). Prices, availability, reviews and photos of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia

  • Loden Hotel

A favourite amongst both locals and visitors alike, this boutique hotel is within walking distance from the trendy Coal Harbour waterfront district and its one-bedroom suites feature unique amenities such as in-suite yoga props and a dedicated yoga channel, Nintendo Wiis and Nespresso barista machines. Plus, it’s (arguably) got the best rooftop patio in town. Prices, availablity, reviews and photos of The Loden Hotel

Guests can easily travel to other major city hot spots via aqua bus and the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, The Dockside, is regularly voted by locals as having one of the city’s best outdoor patios. Prices, availability, reviews and photos of Granville Island Hotel

  • Sutton Place Hotel

Inside the façade of this seemingly humble property, countless celebrities have laid down their heads. The hotel’s Gerard Lounge is a great spot to go star-spotting and is regularly frequented by aspiring actors and screenwriters (which makes for some great eavesdropping!). Prices, availability, reviews and photos of The Sutton Place Hotel

  • The Burrard
