A teenage girl has been charged with 11 counts in relation to a violent stabbing rampage on the SkyTrain in Greater Vancouver.
The 15-year-old is accused of two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and five counts of breaching conditions, reported CBC News on Wednesday.
In just over an hour on Monday night, three people were attacked along the SkyTrain line. One passenger was stabbed with a steak knife, another woman was punched in the face and a third man escaped more serious injury by defending himself against a stabbing with a pizza box.
A second girl, aged 14, has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. She has been released into the care of her grandmother, but will be arrested when she appears in court on Thursday on an unrelated case, reported The Province.
The pair cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Transit Police had said the two girls had been banned from the public transit system after 142 encounters with police in the past 15 months.
