'Grenades' Found At Canada Post Sorting Plant In Vancouver

'Grenades' Force Canada Post Evacuation

The Canada Post processing plant in downtown Vancouver was evacuated after a border agent discovered a package with grenades that later turned out to be fake.

A Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) employee was scanning a package that had arrived at the plant at about 4:15 p.m. Monday when he found the grenades, CBC reported.

The building was evacuated just before 5 p.m. and a bomb technician was called in to check out the package, which turned out to contain novelty items, The Vancouver Sun reported.

Employees were allowed back in the building after police determined that the novelty grenades posed no threat, The Province reported.
