We can't get over how different Calgary looks!
Unused footage from 1972 shows a downtown core before skyscrapers — one where the Calgary Tower is still the tallest building on the skyline by a long shot.
The video, uploaded to YouTube by the archival history group British Pathé, gives a clear view of the downtown core as filmed from a convertible crossing the Centre St. bridge.

Very little of what appears in the footage is recognizable today, and gives perspective as to how far Calgary has come in such little time.
