Today in news that will make you fume, Patrick Couderc, the UK managing director of Hervé Léger, has some rather appalling opinions to share about women.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Couderc listed off the types of women he doesn't want to see wearing the French fashion house's iconic bandage dress.
His list included women who are "voluptuous" and women who have "very prominent hips and a very flat chest." And if you're a lesbian, Couderc doesn't think you'll even have any interest in wearing the figure-hugging, body-con dress either.
"If you're a committed lesbian and you are wearing trousers all your life, you won't want to buy a Leger dress. Lesbians would want to be rather butch and leisurely," he told The Daily Mail. Yup, those words actually came out of his mouth.
And that's not all. Couderc also had this to say about women, namely mature women, who try on Leger dresses: "You women have a lot of problems. You will lose the plot. You will come and you will put a dress on and you'll be in front of the mirror, like, 'Argh, I'm so fat.'
"Yes, you have a 12th of an inch around your stomach, it's not really a disaster, and what you're not noticing is that your cleavage is about two inches too low because you are 55 and it's time that you should not display everything like you're 23."
Couderc also said he "refuses to give free dresses to celebrities if they are judged to lack sufficient class."
Women took to Twitter to express their outrage over the Couderc's comments, including comedian Margaret Cho, and Australian-British author Kathy Lette:

UPDATE: Herve Leger has confirmed to Vogue UK that Patrick Couderc "is no longer associated with the company."
