Christie Brinkley is sending her lookalike daughter off to college!
This week, the famous model packed up her 18-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, and helped her make the big move to New York City. Brinkley documented the milestone move by posting adorable photos to Instagram.
In one cute snap, the mother-daughter duo is seen twinning with matching denim overalls and white T-shirts as they prepare to move.
“Brinkley Moving Company! We Get the job done!” the 62-year-old model wrote.
And in another shot, Brinkley and her daughter are seen hitting the road, looking more alike than ever! The two clearly have the same hair, eyes and smile.
“Brace yourself .. I'm going to say the words no one wants to hear...back to school!” Brinkley captioned the snap. “Make that college! Prepping da crib!”
The move isn’t just a big milestone for Sailor, but also for her mom. The teen is Brinkley’s youngest child, making her the last to leave for college. The supermodel had Sailor with fourth husband Peter Cook.
Brinkley also shares a 21-year-old son, Jack, with Cook, and a 30-year-old daughter, Alexa Ray, with second husband Billy Joel.
This fall, Sailor will attend New York’s Parsons School of Design. The teen originally revealed her interest in the school last year, when she appeared in the September 2015 issue of Seventeen magazine. In her interview, she said she hoped to study photography.
“My mom is a model, so it's something I've always wanted to do,” she told the mag. “I started when I was 14!”
Despite the teen’s excitement over her move, Sailor has been criticized for her choice of school by internet trolls. On Wednesday, the teen hit back at her haters by posting on Instagram.
In the caption, she wrote: “Pushing down the school i worked my ass off for 4 years to get into, saying its for do-nothing trust fund babies, is not only stereotyping a scholastic community but is just plain incorrect and rude! I know many kids enrolled in Parsons who are the most hard working and passionate students in all of new york.”
Sailor, who admits she’s “fed up” with haters, also addressed criticism that she’s not as attractive as her mother or siblings.
“I just will never understand these people who WANT to make me feel badly, who WANT to tell an 18 year old girl she cant follow her dreams because if she does she WONT BE AS GOOD AS HER MOM WAS,” she continued. “I'm just a person figuring out what i want to do and what makes me happy. Leave me alone.”
The 18-year-old, who is also a model like her famous mom, is no stranger to bullying. However, Brinkley has always given her solid advice for dealing with haters.
“I tell all my kids: When you achieve any level of success in your life, no matter what it is… it will come with the haters,” Brinkley told People in 2013. “You have to prepare them for that aspect of it.”
“All you can have is pity for the person who spends all day writing [negative things] and you certainly can’t take it personally,” she continued. “It’s a universal issue. It’s not just aimed at you. Everyone from everywhere is affected by this.”
Clearly Brinkley is one wise mama.
