Hippocrates' maxim is likely a misquotation — one that many people have a vested interest in continuing to promote.

If you follow health tips in the media, you'd think the nutritional sciences are a mess: Is butter good for you or is it bad? Should I eat breakfast or skip it? Should I eat like a caveman? Or maybe should I eat more like a bird? So here are three popular nutrition diet trends to steer clear of -- based on the best evidence.

Weight loss isn't as easy as those before and after photos may make it seem. There is no one food (or drink, more like) that's going to sculpt your abs and give you buns of steel. Likewise, there isn't any one food that's going to miraculously boost your energy, get rid of "brain fog," and "cut inflammation." Yep, lot's of quotation marks around here, guys, and you know what that means.

It was one of those moments when I proclaimed, "I'll never eat again!" For me, it was just that one meal, but for others, this may have happened daily for a couple of weeks, so you may not feel your best right now. The time has come to clean out your system and renew your energy.

This cleanse is really the easiest thing I have ever done. I chose to do it while I was on vacation with my family, but it is equally amenable to a cooler, snowier climate. It helped me shed pounds, increase my focus and re-invigorate my passion for career and family. Do you want in?
Don't ask me if you need a cleanse, ask you. If these 7 items are completely foreign to your regular lifestyle then chances are you probably do need one. But, if you aren't ready to start in your head, don't punish yourself; love yourself a little more by making some of these gentle changes.
My detox experience was pleasant surprise. I'm sorry I didn't do it 10 weeks ago. My energy couldn't be higher, and I could feel healthier. This is something I hope ever single person tries. If you read this, you may want to give it a try now, and not wait. It's time to get healthy and go enjoy life to its fullest.

Following a night of over indulgence the key to resetting and feeling great as quickly as possible is in hydrating and alkalizing the body. Both sugar, alcohol and most other treats along with a lack of our ideal amount of sleep, will strip the body of vital nutrients and water. Repair from a night of indulgence with a one day re-set cleanse.
So there I was during our first long weekend of the summer, May 2-4, trying to muster up the courage to start my pre-cleanse. I was sitting on my own patio with a group of friends, barbecuing over the long weekend with no will power to cut out processed foods and stop drinking alcohol...a three day cleanse was ahead of me.
Those mornings where everything that can go wrong does go wrong? We’ve all had them. But if you've got five minutes, you can still leave the house looking polished and done like celebs who hit the red...
