Olympic Fashion: Team Canada's Style At Opening Ceremonies

Canada is a styling place.

Whether you look at our street style or take into account the many retailers that want to sell their wares to our sartorial selves -- Nordstrom and Free People being the latest -- it's hard to deny we've made a fashion mark.

The only problem is, over the years, our amazing fashion sense hasn't extended to what we've worn to Olympic opening ceremonies. Save a few exceptions (Calgary in 1988 and Vancouver 2010!), the looks we've donned have been questionable.

For example, what on earth was going on in Atlanta in 1996? We know the state is home to hotter than hot heat, but why are our athletes wearing safari gear? And everything about images from Seoul 1988 makes us cringe (look at all of that hair!).

In honour of the London Olympics, which kick off this Friday, July 27, we thought we'd take a look back at the attire our athletic teams have worn to opening ceremonies over the years.
