Kids really do grow up fast! Michael Jackson’s oldest son Prince, now 18, just graduated from high school with honours. On Saturday, he was joined by his famous family to celebrate.
“When they announced his name, the whole Jackson family stood up and cheered and whistled,” a source told Us Weekly. “Prince was ecstatic as he crossed the stage and picked up his diploma.”
Tweeting a photo of the occasion, Prince’s aunt La Toya Jackson wrote: “So very proud of @princemjjjaxon. YOU DID! And you did it with Honors!!! #buckleyclassof2015.”
Prince’s cousin TJ also posted a snap to Instagram of the two wearing big smiles. “Prince, you have grown into an incredibly special young man,” TJ said. “Words can't express how proud I am of you. I will ALWAYS be here to support you wherever life takes you. I love you!”
Initially, Prince, his 17-year-old sister Paris, and 13-year-old brother Blanket were all homeschooled. After their father died in 2009, the children went to live with their grandmother in Los Angeles. A year later, Prince attended private Buckley School.
Now that high school is over, Prince is looking forward to college in the fall. In April, the teen announced he will be attending Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, although it wasn’t an easy decision.
