T.I. and wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris welcomed their daughter three weeks early on March 26. Harris announced the news in a statement last month, but did not reveal the baby’s name until now.
World, meet Heiress Harris.
On Monday, both parents announced their daughter’s name via Instagram and gushed about finally taking her home.
While the name Heiress Harris is a bit of a tongue twister, the name follows the latest celeb trend of using “royal” baby names. In 2015, Chris Brown named his daughter Royalty. The year before, Kourtney Kardashian chose the name Reign for her son and Lil' Kim chose Royal Reign for her daughter.
The trend is picking up steam among non-celebrity parents, so much so that Nameberry named Reign one of the most influential celebrity baby names right now. Additionally, BabyCenter found that in 2015, the name Royalty jumped 88 per cent for girls and Royal rose 36 per cent for boys.
We shouldn't be surprised that T.I. chose a distinct name. The 35-year-old rapper has six kids and they all have strong monikers. Besides Heiress, T.I. is a father to Domani, Messiah, Clifford, Deyjah and Major.
Last year we dubbed Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan’s baby name, Augustus Juppiter Corgan, the most unusual celebrity baby name of 2015, but Heiress Harris certainly takes the cake this year so far!
But how does Heiress measure up to celebrity baby names of the past? Flip through the slideshow below to hear some nature names celeb parents have picked.
