UPDATE: Feb. 25 - The victim has been identified as Amritpal Saran, 29, of Delta, confirmed the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

B.C. RCMP confirmed Sunday that a burned body found on a rural Surrey road was likely the victim of a homicide.

The body was discovered in the 12100 block of Colebrook Road, said RCMP in a news release. About a month ago, Jaskaran Singh Sandhu, 26, was slain and his body dumped in the same area.

"We are only hours into this investigation and cannot confirm the gender or the identity of the victim," said Cpl. Bari Emam of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
