Toronto streets arguably never look better than during Caribana/Caribbean Carnival.
After all, there are so few occasions (except maybe Pride) when hundreds of thousands of locals and visitors can shed their regular, everyday clothes and put on stunning costumes -- then they're ready for the road. Downtown Toronto is transformed into a sexy, shimmering mass of feathers, gemstones and glitter for a full weekend of dancing, wining, palancing, chipping... whatever their signature moves, the masqueraders do it in jaw-dropping style, and Caribana 2015 was no exception.
Exhibit A: All the CARNIVAL BEAUTY going on on this photo:
A traffic-stopping costume demands the same for makeup. For Caribana, you can put jewels on your face, and don't try to tell us you're not into that, BECAUSE IT'S AMAZING:
For guys and girls, PROPER FOOTWEAR is key for a day on the road (or at the after-party) -- the sicker, the better:
Some ladies opt to wear boots, we love these embellished ones:
Put it all together and the effect is... we have no words. NO WORDS:
We confess, in this photo, we are coveting her headpiece, eyebrows, lipstick, hairstyle, necklace, wings -- WE WANT IT ALL:
Ditto for this one too: #BESTFEATHERPHOTOBOMB:
And for those of us to don't do bright colours, these ladies in black and gold show us HOW IT'S DONE:
And for the party after, black and neutrals are ALWAYS IN STYLE:
Take Two:
But we're also partial to ALL-WHITE EVERYTHING. The rose gold accents are a nice touch here:
And there are some very compelling arguments to go bright: LOVE THIS LOOK:
Good ACCESSORIES game on this trio:
EYEBROWS. CONTOUR. COSTUME. EVERYTHING.
And of course, you must walk with your best SELFIE FACE:
Come on, admit it, you want to play mas next year:
And frankly, we don't blame you one bit.
