Cindy Crawford is ready to "move on" from modelling.
The legendary supermodel tells United Airlines' Rhapsody magazine that she plans on retiring when she turns 50 on Feb. 20.
"I'm sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that's OK," she tells the mag. "I've done it. I've worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do?"
She continues, "I can't keep reinventing myself. I shouldn't have to keep proving myself. I don't want to."
The mother-of-two, who teamed up with Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell for Balmain's spring/summer 2016 campaign, says she's ready to make way for the next generation of models, which includes her 14-year-old daughter, Kaia Gerber.
"They are all taking pictures of themselves, or having their friends take pictures for their social media," Cindy says. "Kaia would be modelling even if she weren't modelling. All the girls are modelling. They are not dependent only on how a photographer sees them. They have a direct relationship with their fans."
And despite her struggle with justifying her choice of career, she is still proud about all of her achievements.
"I was like, I love my job, but am I really that superficial that I just love getting my hair and makeup done and looking beautiful? And what I realized was that what I really love and am passionate about is communication. And the way that I have been communicating for the past 30 years has been through pictures."
