Last week, Harry Styles cut his hair.
We, along with the rest of the world, literally stopped everything we were doing and took to Twitter to express our feelings (we had a lot of them).
Some fans were utterly heartbroken.
Twelve minutes after posting the Instagram pic revealing that he donated his signature locks to Little Princess Trust — a charity that makes wigs for children who've lost their hair due to cancer treatments — #RIPHarrysHair shot to the number one hashtag in the world on Twitter, with many fans asking why the boy band superstar would do such a thing.
Other Directioners, however, were ready for Styles to move on and leave his curls (and man braids) far behind, especially with his band, One Direction, taking a hiatus.
New direction, new Harry.
And FINALLY, after waiting for approximately 96 hours for the Redditch, U.K.-native to emerge and debut his dramatic makeover, the day arrived on Monday afternoon. And we have to say, we were left a little disappointed.
AS IF YOU'D WEAR A HAT, HARRY.
Spotted out in London by The Sun, Harry gave fans a rather cheeky glimpse of his new 'do, hiding it under a rather flimsy fisherman's cap.
And of course, Directioners had very strong opinions about that hat:
Speculation about Harry's ~dramatic~ makeover had many in a frenzy earlier in the week when "X Factor U.K." alumni, Ellis Lacy decided to upload a video to his Snapchat account of him face-swapping with Styles. The vid caused hysteria and fans were left disappointed when it was revealed that the cheeky upload was merely a prank.
WHOA.
"I just uploaded it as bit of a laugh, I never expected it to blow up so quickly," Lacy told The Sun Online. "It's very flattering that some people have believed it, Harry's a good looking lad."
So if you're reading this Harry Styles, here's what we have to say: enough with the games already. Just show us the damn haircut.
