Only TV's most stylish detective could get away with going casual at a prestigious award show!
At Britain's National Television Awards on Wednesday night, "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch accepted the award for Best TV Detective wearing what seemed like your standard classic suit, but with a twist.
As the 37-year-old was winding down his speech, which he made via a video feed since he was in L.A. at the time of the event, the camera panned down to reveal that he was in fact wearing a pair of orange swim trunks, to the delight of women everywhere.
Faking embarrassment (and making one of his quirky faces), the handsome Entertainment Weekly cover star said, "oh no no no! Christ!" in response to the wild screams that could be heard in the auditorium. But the "12 Years a Slave" star quickly recovered and finished his speech with aplomb.
While it's too bad we couldn't see those legs on the red carpet, we're just happy to have gotten a glance at another, hilarious side to the actor, who is known for taking his style very seriously in velvet suits, tweed jackets and classic tuxedos.
