When The Huffington Post asked us to be part of their new video series, Talk To Me, I knew I wanted to record a conversation with my children and co-founder/wife Karina Hayat.
Letting your two kids (ages five and nine) lead an open and frank conversation can be very refreshing, humorous and full of surprises.
Our kids are very talkative, full of energy, but put them in front of a camera and they instantly shied away with a loss for words. This loss of words only lasted a few short seconds, however, until they took the reins of the interview.
The Huffington Post had a list of sample questions prepared, and our children asked us the ones that inspired them the most. We then turned on the camera, shot a few re-takes, took a freezie break and let our children guide the conversation. Here was the result.
The Huffington Post is building a movement to start conversations between parents and children. We'd love for you to be part of it. Take the #TalkToMe challenge -- you might have one of the best conversations you've ever had with a loved one.
